NEWPORT, Tenn. — Motorists should expect traffic delays and road closures on Broadway Street beginning Monday morning as road repair work continues in the area.
According to the Newport Police Department, repairs are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on June 16 along Broadway Street between McMahan Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue.
The affected section of roadway will be closed while repairs are underway. Eastbound traffic on Broadway Street will still be able to turn right onto northbound McMahan Avenue.
Officials have not announced how long the repairs are expected to last and say the duration of the project is unknown at this time. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and plan for potential traffic congestion during the repair work.
